I visited Hercs about 2 weekends ago or so. 1st off, i would like to say that Hercs should remodel everything. The "non smoking" section smells more like smoke than the smoking section itself. Everything is falling apart. Honestly, any McDonalds you eat at will be in better condition than this restaraunt..thats how unsanitary Hercs really is. SECONDLY and WORST OF ALL... The Staff. Half of the waitresses live in the MOTEL next door!! The cooks are all little grungy punks that wear their hats backwards and handle the food like i have never seen before. The front of the restaraunt is like and open kitchen, so you can see everything the cooks are doing. these teenagers were throwing water all over the place, using EXTREMELY vulgar language, and just plain fooling around. I first walked in Hercs with my family and waited for about 5 to 10 minutes at the door. All of the sudden this little brunette headed girl that couldnt be older than 12 or 13 comes up like we were bothering/ interrupting her with something..(i mean it is your job, dont act rude.) at this point all i wanted was to be seated. well, finally we get to the table and she forgets the menus and tells us she'll be right back with them. she never came back.A little ridiculous since we were one of the only families there besides the same people who sit at the bar day after day. i guess the worst part of everything was when my 7 year old son and i went to go get rolls and salad at the front where all of the staff was lazily hanging around. The same hostess that forgot our menus AND our table, and a grungy little dark haired cook were kissing and touching (fooling around) out in the open. Now would you want your child seeing that? i think not.VERY innapropriate for a "FAMILY" oriented restaraunt. It is just sad how my family couldnt even enjoy going out for a little dinner. The food is the ONLY reason my family goes to Hercs. I HIGHLY suggest if you are planning to visit Hercs, you ask for a TAKEOUT menu.

The Food was good. All of the cooks are punks and walk around with sideways hats on and piercing in their ears, and are filthy. often walk up behind the bar take a drink touch their mouth and face, smoke and then go right back to prepping food without washing their hands. i have had a very bad experience with a man there named David. Seems two-faced and only talks to his regular customers. the waitstaff was fine except they smoke right in front of their customers, cool bartenders. but really couldn't stand sitting at the bar due to the crazy customers who live in the motel next door. To me the bar seems like a place where alcoholic UAW workers can go and feel sorry for themselfs. All in all, I am very upset with Herc's and will not be returning again. the place is filthy and needs to be inspected by a state health inspector and I'm pretty sure he would be offended byt this disgusting hole in the wall referred to as a Livonia classic

Great place to eat. We have been going to Herc's for over 20 years. I've never ordered something and not liked it. They really need to invest a bit of money into a remodeling job, but the food is fantastic as well as the staff.

I can't comment on the food since we were never served. We waited at the front desk for 5 minutes before we were seated. We were the only ones at the front desk and many employees came by but ignored us. After we were seated we were ignored for 10 minutes. In that time other employees walked by but did not stop. The place wasn't busy at all. We left.
